2012 - The Queen's Diamond Jubilee has some similarities with the Silver Jubilee in 1977.
There was mass public interest. Communities got together and the weather was bloody awful.
Charities collected bonuses through the renaissance of the Jubilee appeals. Perhaps the only difference was in the entertainment which was laid on for The Queen. In 1977 there may have been a greater wealth of talent available. One of the concerts was given by Morecambe and Wise.
If they had been at the Diamond Jubilee Concert, Ernie would have naturally asked:
'What do you think of it so far?'
Eric would have answered ..............
